Simon Loughran - Running Coach
Experience
Simon Loughran has worked as a running coach for 15 years, helping people of all abilities, from beginners, to track and field athletes, to seasoned marathon runners. As well as carrying out hundreds of technical running analyses he has been employed in a variety of running coaching and training roles, including as a running trainer at GoodGym, a group leader at corporate run club specialists LGN Wellbeing, and an endurance and athletics coach at Croydon Harriers, and as a RunTogether run leader.
He volunteers regularly at parkrun, having been involved in core team efforts at various locations since 2011, and is currently a Run Director for Yeovil Rec Junior parkrun.
Simon is a former 800 meter champion for Surrey and while his primary focus is now coaching he still enjoys the odd road race.
In addition to his running pursuits he is also a scientific researcher, undertaking a PhD at the University of Aberdeen, and his background allows him to take a scientific approach to all elements of coaching.
